This innovative add-on serves as both a mirage shield and a night vision (NV) bridge, offering tactical and competitive shooters a distinct edge in the field or on the range.
The primary function of the mirage shield is to help mitigate heat distortion that can obscure your sight picture during long strings of fire. By reducing mirage rising from the barrel, this shield helps maintain a clearer view of your target, enabling greater accuracy and consistency during extended shooting sessions.
In addition to its heat-deflecting benefits, the Mirage Shield also acts as an NV bridge—allowing hunters and operators to mount night vision optics directly to the rifle system. When paired with the required MDT High Scope Base, users can achieve proper co-witness alignment with their NV optic, making it a valuable asset for low-light or nighttime operations.
For competitive shooters, the shield provides a larger, more stable surface area at the front of the rifle. This allows for better rifle control without the need to grip the barrel directly—especially important when the barrel is hot from repeated firing.
